Burkina Faso Safe Water Project
Rehabilitating community water points and supporting long-term maintenance, hygiene training and reliable access to safe water.
Climate finance connected to practical delivery
Implemented with Transform Burkina and community water structures.
The project area covers the rural Nord Region, including Loroum, Passore, Yatenga and Zondoma. Water scarcity, drought and damaged infrastructure can leave communities dependent on unsafe or unreliable sources.
CO2balance works with Transform Burkina to rehabilitate water points and support a maintenance programme, water quality, community management and practical hygiene and sanitation training.

Delivery backed by monitoring
The project record describes an ambition to rehabilitate 500 boreholes and maintain the included water points for at least five years. These are programme details from the source record and should be read in that context.
Reliable groundwater can reduce the need to boil unsafe water over wood fires, avoiding fuel use while supporting health, sanitation and time savings.
Climate impact alongside community priorities
Project monitoring can cover emissions reductions together with locally relevant outcomes. The applicable indicators and certification claims depend on the project design and monitoring period.
