CO2Balance’s story begins in 2003. With climate change concerns gaining traction in the media, a group of friends saw opportunities in the UK to contribute to efforts to offset global emissions. Our first project – the planting of Bishops Wood, a new woodland near Morchard Bishop in Devon, United Kingdom – began what is now a company that has evolved to an organisation with over 15 million carbon credits issued through numerous projects.

As a founding member of the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA), and a market leader in ethical carbon project development, we’ve always placed integrity at the forefront of our work.

In 2017 we became the first organisation to pilot SDG: 5 ‘Gender Responsive’, receiving certification from The Gold Standard in 2019. With our portfolio of international projects, we’re working not only to achieve and advance The United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals, but also to help our clients to make actual impact on combatting climate change.
