Project partnerships

From a shared ambition to a practical delivery plan

CO2balance has worked in carbon project development since 2003. We work with businesses, investors, NGOs and local delivery partners to assess opportunities and develop projects with lasting community benefits.

Some partnerships begin with a project concept. Others begin with a commitment to fund delivery. We establish the technical requirements, responsibilities and commercial arrangements around the project and the people involved.

For project owners and delivery partners

Develop a project

Bring us a new concept or an existing programme. We can assess its suitability for carbon finance and help define the work needed to take it forward.

Support can cover feasibility, methodology selection, project documentation, local pilots, implementation and ongoing monitoring. We agree the scope around your project stage and the capabilities of your team.

For businesses and investors

Invest in a project

Work with us to explore funding or co-development opportunities aligned with your preferred project activities, geography and level of involvement.

We review feasibility, delivery capacity, financial assumptions and certification requirements before progressing. Project roles, funding milestones and reporting arrangements are defined through that assessment.

Our approach

Careful assessment and long-term delivery

We establish what is viable before agreeing a development plan. The scope and timing depend on the project activity, available evidence, local requirements and the relevant carbon programme.

Scoping and feasibility
Understand the activity, location, partners and intended outcomes. Assess eligibility, baseline data, additionality, delivery capacity and commercial assumptions.
Project design and partnership
Select an appropriate methodology, develop the documentation and agree responsibilities, funding arrangements and safeguards. Where needed, a pilot tests the assumptions before wider delivery.
Implementation and validation
Work with local partners and communities to implement the project. Coordinate the independent validation process and support the documentation required for registration.
Monitoring, verification and issuance
Establish monitoring systems, gather project data and coordinate independent verification. Support issuance and reporting in line with programme requirements and the agreed partnership.

Experience on the ground

Partnerships built around the project

Our safe water and improved cookstove work connects carbon project design with local implementation, monitoring and community engagement.

For a prospective partnership, we discuss the evidence available, the work still required and how progress will be reported. Certification status and expected issuance are considered for each project individually.

Tell us what you have in mind

For a development enquiry, share the location, activity, partners, current stage and any available data.

For an investment enquiry, outline your preferred project types, geography, timeframe and the role you would like to take. You do not need to have a specific project in mind.

We will review your outline and discuss an appropriate next step.
