Project Overview

The Nigeria Community-Based Forestry Project aims to promote Community-Based Forestry practices, targeting forest-dependent communities in Nigeria. The project seeks to promote and implement CBF principles within forest-dependent communities and generate GHG removals through REDD+ and ARR.

The project area is characterised by high levels of deforestation and poor management of natural resources, which threaten people's livelihoods. Slash-and-burn agricultural activities contribute significantly to the loss of forest cover, resulting in high forest degradation.
